Vampage
Description
This game was created within 9 days for Godot Wild Jam 75.
You are a vampire and your castle is under attack. You need to survive.
For the best experience, use the download version.
Warning: the jam version currently has a bug that may lead to a game freeze. For more info and a workaround, see below.
How To play
- You can give yourself a name on the start screen used to appear for other players (if network features are activated)
- In the preparation level, bite as many NPCs as possible
- Try to survive as many levels as possible and keep yourself alive
- weapons attack automatically as long as enemies are in range
- usually a good tactic is to avoid too many enemies at once and try to keep your minions alive as well
- Collect blood dropped by enemies, which can be used in the shop
- You can collect shards by destroying the mirror portals. With 4 shards, you can duplicate your minions by creating reflections
- In the shop, you can buy weapons and upgrades for your minions and yourself
- You can drag items to buy or sell items, or move items between yourself and minions. Equipped items appear as little icons on top of their description. Greyed out items can't be moved.
- If Drag & Drop does not work, check the weapon slot limitations
- A minion (or yourself) will die at the start of the round, if they have 0 HP

- You can reroll items for an increasing cost of blood
Controls
- WASD - Move
- Space - Dash
- F- Bite (only in the preparation level)
- Mouse - Use Shop (Drag & Drop)
The game also has Gamepad support for the most part, except for the shop, where a Drag-&-Drop mechanic is used.
Note: Godot's web export has some wrong mappings for Gamepads - you might be able to work around this by using the remap functionality.

Known Issues
Multi-Bite: In the preparation round, you can bite the same guests multiple times by spamming "F" (Bite). This bug leads to...Fixed in 0.1.0cInclomplete Copies: By using Multi-Bite, you can have the same creature appearing multiple times in the shop, they behave like they are the same, but this bug leads to...Game Freeze: When trying to "Frankenize" incomplete copies, the game will usually freeze. This leads to...No game data shared: If you don't die properly (e.g. game freeze or in the last level), your game stats won't be submitted, which means other players won't encounter you as a boss.Fixed in 0.1.0c
Workaround: Just don't spam "F" in the first round. This will solve most problems. The game might look easier with more copies, but it will probably lead to crashes.
